How to Use the Daily Expense Tracker
- Pick your currency and daily budget
Select PKR, USD, AED or any other supported currency from the top bar, then type the amount you plan to spend each day into the Daily Budget field.
- Enter the amount you spent
Type the value in the Amount field. Commas and currency symbols are ignored automatically, and decimals such as 250.50 work perfectly.
- Choose the category and date
Tap a category chip like Food and Dining, Transport or Utilities. Today is preselected as the date, but you can backdate any entry up to the current day.
- Add the payment method and an optional note
Pick Cash, Card, Mobile Wallet, Bank Transfer or Other, then write a short note of up to 120 characters so you remember what the expense was for.
- Save it and watch the numbers update
Press Add Expense. Your entry is stored instantly in the browser and the stat tiles, budget meter, donut chart and 7 day bar chart all refresh at once.
- Export, back up or share your records
Use Export CSV for Excel and Google Sheets, Export JSON for a re-importable backup, or Copy Summary to paste a clean text report into WhatsApp or email.

A two word note turns "1,200 on the 14th" into "1,200 birthday gift" three months later. Notes make the CSV export genuinely useful.
Rent and salary day bills behave very differently from groceries. Use the correct category so the donut chart reflects real patterns.
A budget that is crossed every single day gets ignored. Start with your real seven day average, then reduce it gradually.
Records are stored locally for privacy, so clearing site data wipes them. Use Export JSON once a month and keep the file safe.
This tool records money going out. Keeping salary and other income in a separate record stops your totals and averages from being distorted.

Does UD Tools store my expense data online?
No. The tracker runs entirely inside your own web browser. Your entries are written to your browser's local storage on your device and are never sent to any server, database or third party.
That also means clearing your browser data for this site will erase the saved entries, so export a JSON backup if you want a permanent copy.
Can I use this expense tracker in PKR as well as USD or other currencies?
Yes. The currency selector in the top bar supports PKR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SAR, INR, BDT, MYR, TRY, CAD and AUD. Switching the currency relabels and reformats every amount instantly, so the same records work whether you are budgeting a monthly salary in rupees or tracking spending abroad.
Note that the tool does not apply live exchange rates, it simply displays your figures in the unit you choose.
How do I set a daily spending budget?
Type your target amount into the Daily Budget field at the top of the tool. The budget meter below the summary tiles then shows today's spend as a percentage of that limit, turns amber when you pass 80 percent and turns red once you go over.
The budget is saved with your other settings, so it stays in place the next time you open the page.
Can I export my expense history to CSV or Excel?
Yes. The Export CSV button downloads a comma separated file containing the date, category, amount, currency, payment method and note for every entry that matches your current filter. CSV files open directly in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and Numbers without any conversion.
Use Export JSON if you would rather keep a full backup that can be re-imported into this same tool later.
What happens if I clear my browser cache or switch devices?
Because the records live in your browser's local storage, clearing site data or using a different browser or device will show an empty tracker. This is intentional for privacy, since nothing is uploaded anywhere.
To move your history to another device, use Export JSON on the first device and then Import JSON on the second one.
Is there a limit on how many expenses I can record?
There is no artificial limit on the number of entries, and the list stays fast even with several thousand records because rendering is grouped by day and capped per view. The only practical ceiling is your browser's local storage quota, which is typically a few megabytes and far more than most people need for years of daily tracking.
If the quota is ever reached, the tool warns you and suggests exporting and clearing older entries.
Does this expense tracker work on mobile phones?
Yes. The layout is mobile first, so the form, category chips, charts and entry list reflow into a single comfortable column on small screens.
The amount field uses a numeric keypad, buttons are large enough for thumb taps, and no part of the page scrolls sideways on phones, tablets or desktop monitors.
